    OWNER/TEAM THERAPIST

Hi there! I’m glad you're considering therapy, and I'd love to guide you on your journey toward growth and healing. As a strengths-focused therapist, I focus on recognizing and building upon the strengths you already possess. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and work collaboratively with clients to create a safe, non-judgmental space for exploring challenges and achievements. Whether navigating anxiety, depression, or life transitions, I'm here to offer support, guidance, and practical tools for increased self-awareness and resilience.

In sessions, I’ll help you discover your inner strengths and explore how to apply them in overcoming obstacles. I utilize a variety of evidence-based approaches, such as CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques. Together, we'll create an action plan that allows you to move toward your goals, feel more balanced, and enhance your overall well-being.

I believe therapy is a partnership where we both contribute to your growth. I’m here to listen, support, and empower you. My goal is to help you build a fulfilling; meaningful life aligned with your values. If you're ready to take the next step, I’d love to connect and work together to create lasting positive change!

    TEAM THERAPIST

Hello! I am friendly, empathetic, and passionate about helping individuals navigate their life's challenges. My office is a warm and welcoming place located on the ground floor at Waverly Place where you will find free coffee and other refreshments. I also provide Telehealth if you cannot make it in person. I see clients of all ages from 10 - 65 years old, and believe that the counselor and client relationship in sessions is very important to growth. I excel with those who are having difficulty with anxiety, depression, anger issues, chronic illness, job stress, and other of life's challenges.

With research showing that the average person has 75% negative thoughts, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CBT, to help you break the vicious cycle you are in and replace those maladaptive thoughts with positive and helpful thoughts. I also use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, DBT, and provide structured sessions to help you with mindful exercises and help regulate emotions to fill your mental health toolbox with everyday tools to navigate life. With 38 years as a husband and father, I offer empathetic support and practical strategies for respectful communication. I assist parents in setting realistic expectations and understanding their child's emotions. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.

Hunter Blake, LCMHC, NCC

Hello and thanks for taking the time to look at my profile! I have an office over in Waverly Place where we could meet in person (with free refreshments and coffee), or you can meet with me online from anywhere in North Carolina. I see anyone 13 years old and up but typically work very well with college-aged and young adult males at any walk of life. And although any background or worldview is welcome, I also come from a Christian background for those looking for it. Some key issues I have extensive experience with are depression, anxiety, identity/lack of purpose issues, topics related to spirituality, men's issues, and addiction.

When it comes to meeting in sessions, you get what you seek with me. I have made it my life's work to help people who go through the parts of life we like to hide away from everyone else and I hope to help you find the freedom you've been seeking. With me, you get a counselor who genuinely cares and does his absolute best to serve you.

Give me a call! Write me an email! The first step is always the hardest, but if you're not sure, ask yourself that inescapable question: "How much do I want to get better?"
