Walking With You Toward Healing & Growth

J. Michele Blake, LCMHC, MBA

Founder of Coffee Talk Therapy

Hello!

My Approach to Therapy

My therapy style is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals, teens, couples, and families can explore their experiences at their own pace.

What Therapy with Me is Like

Therapy is a place to reconnect with strengths you may have forgotten or overlooked. Together we build resilience, develop practical tools, and create a life that feels authentic and balanced.

I believe therapy is not about fixing what is broken. It’s about understanding your story, rediscovering your strengths, and building a life that feels authentic and meaningful.

Practical Tools

Experience That Shapes My Approach

In addition to my clinical training, I bring more than 25 years of experience in child development, parenting education, and family support, including advocating for early intervention services for young children. Throughout my career I have worked with parents, educators, professionals, and teams to better understand children’s emotional and behavioral development, support neurodivergent children and adults, and create environments where individuals and families can thrive. I also bring extensive experience in organizational development and leadership, which has shaped my understanding of communication, systems, and the conditions that help people grow. These experiences continue to shape my work as a therapist, allowing me to support individuals and families with deeper insight, compassion, and practical tools for meaningful growth and connection.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or longing for a place where you can talk openly and be understood, therapy can help.

Starting Therapy Can Feel Like A Big Step.

Reaching out for therapy often comes with many questions. You might wonder if someone will really understand your experience or if therapy will help.

My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported as you explore your story at your own pace.

You don't have to have everything figured out to begin. Sometimes the most important step is simply starting the conversation.

I’m Michele Blake, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and the founder of Coffee Talk Therapy. I work with individuals, teens, couples, and families who want to better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and create a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and meaningful.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and deeply respectful of each person’s story. I believe healing begins when people feel safe enough to be honest about their experiences and supported enough to grow through them.

My therapy style is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace.

Using trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches, I support clients navigating:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Depression

  • Grief and loss

  • Relationship challenges

  • Life transitions

  • Family conflict

  • Identity and self-worth

Together we reflect on the experiences that have shaped how you see yourself and the world around you. Through thoughtful conversation, practical tools, and supportive guidance, therapy becomes a place where you can build resilience, shift perspectives, and develop healthier ways of coping and connecting.

MY APPROACH TO THERAPY

REDISCOVERING YOUR STRENGTHS

One of the most meaningful parts of my work is helping people reconnect with strengths they may have forgotten or overlooked.

I walk alongside clients as they rediscover their worth, gifts, and inner resilience. Through attentive listening and reflection, I help highlight the qualities and strengths that are already present within you.

Together we work toward meaningful goals that support a life that feels more balanced, connected, and authentic one that leaves room for joy, confidence, and continued growth.

A LIFETIME OF SUPPORTING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

Before becoming a licensed therapist, I spent more than 25 years working as a child development and behavioral specialist. During that time, I partnered with families, educators, and early childhood professionals to support healthy development and early intervention.

This experience continues to shape my work today. It gives me a deeper understanding of how early experiences influence emotional development, relationships, and the ways people learn to navigate the world.
