Insurance and Fees
All licensed providers are in-network with Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Some providers also accept Cigna and United Healthcare (UHC/Optum). Please check individual provider profiles for the plans they accept. We are not in-network with Medicare or Medicaid and do not file these claims. For out-of-network plans (excluding Medicare/Medicaid), claims can often be filed on your behalf, but full payment is required at the time of service. For details about your out-of-network benefits, please contact your insurance plan directly. If you are not using insurance, ask about our cash rates, and note that our interns offer sliding scale rates to help make care more accessible.
Insurance And Fees
-
Copay: A copay is the set amount you pay out of pocket for each therapy session, as determined by your insurance plan, and it is typically due at the time of your appointment.
Deductible: A deductible is the amount you are required to pay out of pocket for healthcare services before your insurance begins to cover a portion of the cost.
Co-Insurance: Coinsurance is the percentage of the session cost that you are responsible for paying after you’ve met your deductible, while your insurance covers the remaining portion.
BHAP Program: The Behavioral Health Access Program (BHAP) is a North Carolina State Health Plan initiative designed to improve access to mental health services by offering enhanced reimbursement rates for participating behavioral health providers. The program supports services such as therapy, evaluations, and testing, helping practices expand access while maintaining quality, sustainable care.
For more information about BHAP, including provider participation and enrollment details, visit the NC State Health Plan Network website where updated guidance and resources are available.

With an in-network plan, your insurance company has a contracted rate with the provider, which typically lowers your out-of-pocket cost. You are responsible only for your copay, coinsurance, or deductible amount, as determined by your specific insurance plan.
-
With an out-of-network plan, the client is financially responsible for the full session fee at the time of service, and the insurance company may reimburse a portion of the cost directly to the client based on their specific plan benefits.
-
$300.00 per 90 minute intake session
$225.00 per 50-53 minute therapy session
$85.00 per 90 minute group session
Session fees are based on out-of-network and private pay rates. If we are in network with your insurance plan, your responsibility will be limited to the copay, coinsurance, or deductible amount determined by your insurance coverage. We’re happy to help answer questions about benefits and what to expect prior to your first session.
-
We offer a limited number of sliding scale appointments to help make therapy more accessible, based on availability and individual financial need. Contact us for more information on how to apply.
-
We currently accept Visa, Mastercard credit cards, and HSA cards for payment. Payment is due at the time of your session.
-
We understand that things come up and that you may not be able to make it to your scheduled appointment that is okay. We ask, however, that you provide your therapist with 24 hours’ notice to avoid being billed the full cost of the session.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
